Digital Distribution FAQ

General

Q: What is Digital Distribution?
A: Digital Distribution is a general term used for delivering a product digitally, often via the Internet, on demand. Digital Distribution does not rely on stock levels or different shipping methods, but simply lets a customer make a purchase instantly; and have the product readily available.

Q: What is an API store?
A: An API store lets you hook the Ztorm Product Catalogue into your existing e-commerce system without affecting your current products, payment system or web CMS. Ztorm’s thorough API documentation makes adjusting your systems for digital distribution a breeze. API solutions are exceptionally powerful for retailers with an existing physical product catalogue.  It also allows you to have double “Purchase” buttons on each product page and enables the easy bundling of different types of products.

Q: What is a “White Label” store?
A: A White Label store is a custom made website which is tailored to the customer’s graphical profile. The Ztorm Manager assists the process by powering the back end and can handle everything from products to payment transactions. This makes The Ztorm Manager an excellent choice for companies that don’t have an e-commerce system or for special marketing campaigns.

Q: I’d like to sell digital products, should I choose a White Label service or an API solution?
A: An API solution is a flexible and cost effective way to implement Ztorm’s product catalogue if you have an e-commerce platform in place. Generally, we recommend White Label services to customers that don’t have an existing e-commerce system.

Q: What is “first line” support?
A: First line support issues include:

  • Problems related to your product purchases – problems related to adding products to your shopping cart, payment, invoicing, your personal account etc.
